The Intention

At Stillwater Nature Spa, we’re here to help you slow down and come back to what really matters—your connection to Nature. When we spend time in Nature, we remember that we’re not separate from it. Taking care of the Earth is, at its heart, a way of taking care of ourselves.

Our hope is to inspire others to cultivate a deeper, more mutual relationship with the land—one that supports your well-being while also honouring the planet that sustains us.

The Inspiration…

Stillwater Nature Spa was born from the deep sense of peace and belonging that Nature has always offered our founder, Mary Helena. From a young age, she turned to the natural world for calm, clarity, and connection. That relationship only deepened when she studied massage therapy in Hawaii—surrounded by lush landscapes, ocean air, and a culture that honoured the land as teacher and healer. It was there that she felt the powerful harmony between bodywork and nature, and the way both invite the nervous system to soften.

After moving to Tofino over nine years ago, she found a similar magic in the wild forests and ocean waves of the West Coast. Inspired to share that experience, she brought Stillwater to life—a space where the healing art of massage meets the grounding presence of Nature.

Tucked into the forest on the inlet side of the peninsula, Stillwater invites you to slow down and return—to yourself, your body, and the rhythms of nature. These are treatments are designed not just for physical tension, but for the whole being. A space where ritual, stillness, and beauty offer a gentle return to what’s essential.

In a world that often pulls us away from the earth, Stillwater offers a quiet way back. To the breath, to the body, to the land.

Environmental Commitments

Nature moves in cycles—tides, seasons, night to day, growth, rest. Everything is connected, and everything has its place. At Stillwater, we believe we’re meant to be part of that circle—not outside of it.

The forest reminds us: nothing is wasted, nothing is rushed. Every fallen leaf feeds the soil. Every tide knows when to return. When we live in harmony with these rhythms, we soften. We remember our essence.

That’s one of the reasons why Stillwater is a proud member of 1% for the Planet. We give back a portion of our revenue to support environmental organizations that protect the ecosystems we’re part of. It's a way of honouring the Earth that holds us—and of playing our part in the larger cycle of care.

Caring for the Earth is caring for yourself.

“Come to the woods for here is rest.”
